Why are celebrities treated like royalty?
They do not have the status of gods. They aren't unique. Stop treating celebrities like gods in your life. It can be anyone like businessmen, businesswomen, sportsmen, sportswomen all are the same but painted with different names. We must learn to handle them as if they were ordinary individuals. They also eat food, sleep, and go to the toilet. They don't have superpowers. Let's start idolizing our real heroes like soldiers, farmers, and parents.
The public worships celebrities as gods, although they are the worst compared to others. They act as though they do not feel anything in society so that their reputation does not get tarnished. If their reputation gets tarnished, their films will underperform at the box office, resulting in a loss of revenue.
The craze on the movies is at the next level in a few individual's life. There are incidents where young individuals have expressed an interest in watching all of the films released in theatres. They do not even care about their financial situation. They want to watch it on the release date itself. Some even prefer the first show on the release date.
If the theatre management hikes the price of the tickets ten times more than the regular price, the youths are ready to go. Why do some individuals spend so much money on movie tickets?
Why do we idolize and worship celebrities?
Few students request their educational institution to declare a holiday on the first day of the film release, and the institutions respond positively to their requests. Now the point here is, what is the educational institution trying to convey? Is the educational institution trying to tell that movies are above the country? They are allowing the students to go and watch the cinema instead of guiding them correctly.
Some youths even request the government to declare a national holiday on the first day of the film screening. If done so, it will lose its significance. It is to honor those who have fought for their country.
It is ridiculous that our youths are much concerned about heroes and heroines. We must question those youngsters, have they ever tried to show so much concern to their parents?
We will give a clear picture. Suppose the government declares a national holiday on the movie release date due to the pressure from a set of the public.
Let us consider the population is around 100 crores, the count of the cinema screens is 10,000 throughout the country, the capacity of a theatre is 500, and the number of shows for 24 hours is six on all the cinema screens. Now let us do the maths.
Nationwide capacity = 10,000 screens * 500 seats * 6 shows = 3,00,00,000 seats.
If a ticket costs rupees 200, the daily collection will be around 3 crores seats * 200 = Rs.6 billion.
In 1 billion people, only three crores will watch it, and what about the remaining 970 million? What should they do?
Suppose if those 970 million people are earning 100 rs per day, the overall amount will be around Rs.97000 million, and the governing authorities will be getting 30 billion from that as a tax amount.
Now compare the box office amount collected, public money, and tax money. Which is bigger? Who will pay the loss suffered? Is the movie team ready to pay the loss?
The best form of service on this planet is serving the mankind. Stop treating celebrities like gods.
